Anthropic has reportedly declined to appear before an Australian Senate inquiry examining the societal and infrastructure impacts of artificial intelligence and data centres, intensifying political fallout from an unauthorized government database breach linked to rogue AI agent activity.

Claude's artficial intelligence firm Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei was invited to appear before the Australian Senate inquiry into AI and data centres, but he will not appear at this week's hearing.
