Will Crosby end his career as a Penguin?
Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby recently passed legend Mario Lemieux’s 1,723 points to become the franchise’s all-time points leader.
Remarkably, the Cole Harbour, N.S.-born centre is in his 21st season with the Pens. Although Crosby is still referred to as “Sid the Kid,” his age of 38 would indicate that he can no longer be classified as a youth.
Ever since joining the Penguins, courtesy of the first overall selection in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Crosby has been the consummate professional for the Pennsylvania-based organization.
He propelled the Pens to Stanley Cup championships in 2009, 2016 and 2017. He has also compiled an extensive list of personal accolades, including two Conn Smythe Trophies, two Hart Memorial Trophies, two Art Ross Trophies, three Ted Lindsay Awards (including one under its former name, the Lester B. Pearson Award) and two Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophies.
