Washington: The US Senate has approved legislation that could significantly increase economic pressure on Russia and countries that continue buying its oil and gas. The bill, passed by an 86-11 vote, would give President Donald Trump the power to impose tariffs of up to 100 per cent on goods from countries that rank among Russia’s five biggest energy buyers.
