President Donald Trump seemed confused as to why "everybody hates Russia".

Donald Trump has claimed that it is “strange” that everyone “hates Russia” now – apparently ignoring Vladimir Putin’s brutal invasion of Ukraine.

Speaking at a White House press conference on Thursday, the US president recalled a conversation he had with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron about the end of World War 2.

“I said, ‘You’re celebrating our victory?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ I said, “Your victory?’” Trump recalled.
