Critics Are Calling London's New Game Of Thrones Play 'Epic', But 'Exhausting'
The “spectacular” and “gripping” new stage production sounds like a must-watch for Game Of Thrones devotees.
After a string of hit novels and three popular TV series, the world of Game Of Thrones is now conquering the stage.
Based on George R R Martin’s books, the new play The Mad King serves as a direct prequel to the original award-winning fantasy drama, set around a decade before it begins, and featuring many of the same characters.
Its opening night took place over the weekend at London’s iconic Globe theatre, with performances scheduled for the next month – and for the most part, critics have been pretty taken with this latest addition to the Westeros universe.
The Mad King has received a smattering of four- and even five-star reviews, with critics praising the play’s production and dramatic tone.
