The mess became so bad that staff at a nearby café stepped in to clear the waste and put out an extra bin, raising questions over why more hadn’t been done to cope with the surge in visitors.

By Sunday evening, waste was spilling out of bins and blowing across the sand in the breeze, prompting concerns over cleanliness and potential public health risks.
