The pale leather gloves, dirty from flying operations, were expected to fetch £1,000 to £2,000 but failed to meet their undisclosed reserve price.

A number of items at their royalty, antiques and fine art auction did sell including a letter by Diana, Princess of Wales, written a week after a Panorama interview, sold for £5,330.
