Comment: West Shore RCMP project shouldn't be delayed

Across the West Shore, no one municipality can stand alone in facing the challenges of public safety, affordability and rapid growth.
For years, mutual trust and collaboration have been what have given us the strength to provide the services that define our high quality of life on the West Shore.
Thanks to our regional model, users enjoy lower fees and longer hours at West Shore Parks and Recreation, in contrast to their recreational experience at rinks and pools in Langford that are operating through private contracts, funded solely by Langford taxpayers.
When a fire breaks out, our mutual aid agreement works to ensure the quickest response regardless of whose tax dollars paid for the truck.
Indeed, working as one is what makes our existing public safety service levels possible. Because our RCMP services are integrated, we can fund specialized policing units........
