Joe Biden. Mitch McConnell. The congressman nobody had heard about until he went missing for months. Why are politicians so opaque about their health and cognitive abilities?
Americans have unfortunately come to assume that politicians lie virtually every time they open their mouths. Now, we all assume that when a politician is too old or beleaguered by an aging body and brain to serve in office, their handlers will also lie and dodge and chum the waters with carefully crafted statements rather than just telling the truth, plain and simple.
