BOB WAKEHAM: Is there a parallel on Trump's treatment of the press with NL politicians?
Columnist Bob Wakeham can cite many examples of instances where NL politicians cut off journalists in a similar fashion to Trump
Those latest childish attempts by the deranged loon and frighteningly unhinged Donald Trump to demolish his country’s much ballyhooed and centuries-old rights guaranteeing freedom of the press are, at the very least, another piece of embarrassing evidence that he has turned the United States into the laughing stock of the world.

Once a largely admired and even envied country, despite its flaws (a domestic history of slavery and a habit of highly questionable, if not immoral, intrusion into the affairs of other nations), the U.S.A maintained seemingly forever its status as the leader of the so-called “free world” and a reputation as a place occupied largely by individuals of a decent albeit imperfect nature, not unlike the bulk of their fellow earthly souls.
But almost single-handedly, this man child — this shallow nincompoop with the I.Q. of a mud trout, this swollen-headed egotist obsessed with his legacy, oblivious to the fact that he will be viewed by historians as the worst American President ever — has come mighty close to destroying his his country’s reputation.
Unfortunately, way too many of those afore-mentioned “decent” Americans have on two occasions obviously helped to make this disaster of a human being with the moral compass of a Robin Hood Bay rat the most powerful man in the world.
It does boggle the mind, does it not?
I was determined not to waste this editorial space this week on that nut case, but I let my typing fingers do the talking; they took over. I couldn’t help myself.
Is it the same........
