Tony Harper, a retired electrical engineer, died after taking a dip in the water with his grandson while on a holiday on June 14, 2025.

An inquest held at Norfolk Coroner’s Court revealed how Mr Harper, who lived in Hellesdon, was on the first day of his holiday with his eldest son and grandson when he got into difficulty in the sea.

His medical cause of death was established as acute respiratory failure as a result of mechanical asphyxiation due to submersion.
