Google’s Gemini 3.0 decodes 500 year old handwritten notes in historic Nuremberg Chronicle

New Delhi: The new model of AI created by Google is entering the history books. Gemini 3.0 Pro has been used to solve a centuries-old riddle entombed within a 500-year-old copy of the Nuremberg Chronicle, one of the most valuable printed artefacts of the early modern period.

In one experiment which was led by researchers who worked on historical documents, the AI unravelled handwritten marginal notes that had baffled researchers over the decades. The results provide a fresh, viable reason as to why annotations made by a reader over 400 years ago are available and how current AI applications can unlock knowledge that was hidden in the ancient texts.
