New Delhi: Veteran actress Sowcar Janaki passed away at the age of 94 on August 21. Her remarkable career and dignified life continue to inspire generations. Her granddaughter and actor Vaishnavi Aravind recalls growing up with the legendary actress, sharing cherished memories of her work, values and the deep bond they shared.

Q. How do you remember your growing up years around your grandmother Sowcar Janaki?

Vaishnavi Aravind: Having grown up being around her and her career and her greatness and charisma, I’ve always been lucky to be able to witness many important events in her career. It’s been a glorious career over 500 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

She did a film called Teen Bahuraniyan. She also did Dosti Dushmani. And even the Raj Babbar and Anita Raj film Chor Police.
