India, China reach 8-point agreement on boundary talks and LAC management

India and China have reached an eight-point agreement to advance boundary delimitation talks and improve management along the Line of Actual Control. The two countries will establish additional military hotlines and meeting points to prevent misunderstandings. They will also hold talks on trans-border rivers and hydrological data sharing in September.

New Delhi: India and China have agreed to move forward with talks on an “Early and Substantial Harvest” of boundary delimitation. They will also act quickly to prevent any misunderstanding or miscalculation along the Line of Actual Control.

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reached the agreement during the 25th round of Special Representatives’ talks in Beijing on Tuesday. A joint statement issued on Wednesday listed eight outcomes from the meeting.
