Drivers fork out nearly £80,000 in six months for parking offences

Figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show 2,906 penalty charge notices (PCNs) were issued in Lowestoft between July 1 and December 31 last year, generating £79,020 for East Suffolk Council.

Lowestoft accounted for more revenue than Beccles and Bungay combined over the same period, which saw £30,226 generated.

The most ticketed location was Clapham Road car park, where 204 PCNs were issued, with Royal Green car park following behind with 149 tickets.
