In a 20 versus 20 game, Ms Williams' youngest son, 12-year-old Isaac also scored.

A moment of silence was held for Ms Williams before kick-off among the crowd of 50 players and approximately 30 spectators.

Although Fenerbabache FC - a Norwich-based club which raises money for various charities - lost 2-10 to their opponents, the day was still dubbed a success with more than £1,000 raised to help cover the costs of Ms Williams' funeral.

Ali Kirbac, one of the organisers for the club, said: "The highlight for me was Caleb getting the opener for us five minutes into the game. We thought from there we were going to win but it wasn't to be."

The game was held a week ahead of Ms Williams' funeral, which is taking place at 11.30am on Saturday, February 28 at Thorpe St Andrew Parish Church.

The funeral is open to close friends and family of Ms Williams and those who attend are encouraged to wear colourful clothing in her honour.

Ms Williams, 49, was a well-known member of the congregation at the parish church of Thorpe St Andrew and worked for around seven years at City College as an administrator.

Her funeral will take place the day after a plea and trial preparation hearing for her estranged husband, Raymond Lee Williams, who stands accused of killing Ms Williams.

Police had been called to reports of a woman injured on Catherine Gardens but the mother-of-four was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before midnight on Saturday, January 17.

Williams, 61, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning in Dereham Road and charged on suspicion of murder three days later.

A date of July 20 has been fixed for a trial expected to last between seven and 10 days.
