More than 1,000 stray dogs were recorded in the borough over a five-year period, according to figures from Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

A total of 1,019 lost dogs were reported between January 2021 and December 2025, with 475 requiring kennelling.

A borough council spokesman said: "Great Yarmouth Borough Council takes its responsibilities for stray dogs seriously and works with its contracted dog warden service to respond to reports across the borough.
