Dates set for hearings to decide the fate of major Norfolk solar farm

The first in a series of hearings which will determine whether East Pye Solar Farm goes ahead will take place at Dunston Hall, on the edge of Norwich.

The solar farm has been proposed by developer Island Green Power on 2,718 acres of countryside, almost all of which is farmland, close to the villages of Hempnall, Saxlingham, Shotesham, Brooke, Woodton and Great Moulton.

Developer Island Green Power says that, with a planned capacity of up to 500MW, it would produce enough to power approximately 115,000 homes a year.

But almost 2,000 members of the public have made representations........
