Norfolk County Council has yet to confirm that the ban, which it was forced to introduce after a blaze at the Norfolk depot which processed many electrical items, is about to be lifted.

But posts on Facebook, from people who appear to have inside knowledge, have suggested the tips will accept all items again from Monday (July 13).

It is understood the county council intends to make an announcement and provide further details on Thursday (July 9).
