Oscar statuette found after TSA flagged it as weapon

(NewsNation) — An Oscar statuette that went missing at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport has been found.

Filmmaker Pavel “Pasha” Talankin, who won an Oscar this year for Best Documentary Feature for “Mr. Nobody Against Putin,” was traveling internationally when Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials confiscated the statuette.

In an Instagram post, Talankin’s co-director, David Borenstein, explained that during a security screening, a TSA agent seized the statuette, telling Talankin it could not be brought onto his Lufthansa flight to Germany because it might be used as a weapon.

Borenstein alleged that TSA placed the “Oscar in a box and sent it to the bottom of the plane,” but........
