Logitech CEO is "begging and borrowing" chips as AI demand tightens supply

Hanneke Faber says she spent the summer scouring Asia and Switzerland for chips and doesn't expect relief for 12 to 18 months

Logitech Chief Executive Hanneke Faber has spent months traveling to chip suppliers in Asia and Switzerland, trying to secure components that artificial intelligence demand has made scarce.

"I've spent my summer begging, borrowing and stealing chips," Faber told The Wall Street Journal, then walked back part of it: "I don't want to say steal. Begging and borrowing!"

The shortage stems from a concentration of chip production among a small number of manufacturers, with much of that output being absorbed by AI infrastructure, Faber said. Chips are a........
