Netflix spent more than $135 billion on films and TV shows over the past decade

The company says that investment contributed more than $325 billion to the global economy and created over 425,000 jobs

Netflix $NFLX says it invested more than $135 billion in films and television series over the past decade, a figure the company is highlighting as it marks 10 years since expanding its streaming service to more than 190 countries. That spending, Netflix says, generated upward of $325 billion in global economic activity, along with more than 425,000 production jobs and an additional 700,000-plus extras and day workers — though none of the figures have been independently verified.
