Hormuz crisis: Centre announces emergency kerosene allocation amid LPG crisis

New Delhi: With LPG supplies under strain due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, the Centre has introduced a 60-day emergency allocation of kerosene to ease pressure on domestic fuel demand.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has authorised the temporary distribution of Public Distribution System Superior Kerosene Oil in 21 states and union territories, including regions where it had earlier been phased out.
The move is aimed at ensuring households continue to have access to basic cooking and lighting fuel amid delays in LPG refills.
