‘Appeasement on display’: Pradhan slams Congress over two-stanza Vande Mataram decision

New Delhi: Former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday attacked the Congress over its decision to sing only the first two stanzas of “Vande Mataram” at party events, accusing it of pursuing appeasement politics and questioning whether national pride or its “vote bank” mattered more to the opposition party.

The Congress had on Wednesday decided to abide by the 1937 resolution of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), its highest decision-making body, under which only the first two stanzas of the national song would be sung at all party programmes.
