7 free or cheap events and activities in Norfolk during the summer holidays

Even if you are not planning to go away this year, the costs of simple family days out can add up, whether it is buying food or just paying entry costs.

Here are a list of free or cheap events and activities going on in Norfolk this summer.

When: August 15 to 21

Where: Carnival Field, Runton Road, Cromer, NR27 9AU

Cost: Parade and street events are free. Entry to the Carnival Field is around £10 for adults and £8 for children and seniors.

Every summer for more than 50 years, Cromer Carnival has drawn thousands of people to the town with funfair rides, RAF Red Arrow displays and a dazzling parade.

This year, the OG Performance Horses will be appearing with their spectacular Chariot Racing Show and David Seamark, a sheep and arable farmer, is due to present his talented working sheepdogs as they engage with his flock.

There will also be a craft fayre will offer a selection of handmade items and gifts, other entertainment.

2. Blakeney Greasy Pole

Where: Blakeney Quay, Blakeney, north Norfolk, NR25 7ND

Cost: Free for spectators.
