Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth has opened its new look Pier Tavern after undergoing significant refurbishment work over the past three months.

It is the latest stage in the "massive transformation" taking place on the pier.

Cherise Abbott, co-owner of Britannia Pier, said: "We have done a complete refit of the Pier Tavern.

"This year the project was the Pier Tavern. It has had a complete refit from back to front.

"Before it was quite dark. It is now bright and airy. It will be a nicer atmosphere, more inviting and modern. We are really pleased with it."

Work to transform the Pier Tavern began just after Christmas last year.

The front of the tavern has been ripped out to make way for new bifold doors, which will open up in the summer so people can sit out and enjoy the terrace.
