Now called Gunton Fish and Chips, the eatery is being dubbed "your new favourite spot".

Ibrahim Bas, 42, boasts 25 years of experience in the fish and chip trade.

"These changes have been a year in the making and it is good to see it all come together," Mr Bas said ahead of the grand reopening.

"This is the second chip shop I've run in the area and things are getting harder in recent years with prices going up, but it is good to reopen."

William Gilroy and the team at Barge No.9 in Lowestoft completed the refurb to raise funds for a project, which will see an old ship transformed into a vibrant floating event venue, cafe and restaurant.

"We do lots of work in the community to earn money to keep the barge going," Mr Gilroy said.

"It’s the only way we do it as we have had very little by way of funding."
