Place UK, a berry specialist based in Tunstead, near North Walsham, has promoted its existing commercial and finance directors to the new roles.

Linda Evans will lead on commercial, people and culture, while Matt Smith will oversee finance, IT, and operations.

Mr Smith said: "We have an exceptional team at Place UK, and I am delighted to take on this new role with Linda.

"We share the belief that our people are our most important asset, and we’re looking forward to empowering colleagues to continue delivering an exceptional range of products and services to our customers."

Linda Evans added: “I’m looking forward to jointly leading this ambitious family-founded business as it continues a high growth trajectory.”

Founded by John Place in 1954, Place UK started out growing fruit for jam, yoghurt, ice cream and dessert manufacturers.

Today, it is one of the UK’s leading growers of premium strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blackberries and rhubarb, with processing and packing facilities, including IQF (individual quick frozen) capabilities, supplying ingredients including fruits, pulses, grains, rice and beans to the UK food industry.
