17 Americans are dead. How many is too many for Republicans?
The Republican Party continues to forget exactly why many voted for President Donald Trump, and is instead letting him do whatever he wants.
The Pentagon has been unusually quiet on American involvement in the war with Iran over the past five months, going so far as to withhold information about injuries to U.S. troops, according to The New York Times. Despite what Republicans said about their desire not to involve the country in another conflict abroad, this is exactly what they’re supporting.
On July 20, the Pentagon’s chief spokesman informed the public that "nearly 100 service members were deemed to have some degree of injury since July 7." There have been 17 confirmed U.S. military deaths since the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on Feb. 28.
In April, The Times reported that the Department of Defense had not shared just how much the U.S. military has depleted its stock of munitions.
Trump has spoken frequently about ending the conflict with Iran, feigning transparency while his administration has been opaque. Perhaps this is because the country does not want to be in this war in the first place – just one marker of how far the party has drifted from its voters' hopes.
Does the GOP even know what it believes anymore?
Multiple polls show that........
