Republicans are trailing Democrats by about 8 points on a generic congressional ballot, according to a new poll from Emerson College and The Hill.

In the survey, 50.7 percent said that they would back a Democrat if the midterm elections were that day and 43 percent said that they would back a Republican, with 6.3 percent unsure.

The poll comes amid rocky political territory for the GOP as they head into this........
