Kim Yo Jong Slams Seoul After Anti-North Korea Leaflets Launched

Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said Pyongyang would hold the South Korean government accountable for a North Korean defector group’s propaganda flyers in a statement released on May 2 through the North Korean Central News Agency and Rodong Sinmun.

Kim Yo Jong said North Korea considers launching leaflets to North Korea as “a serious provocation” and would consider “corresponding actions.” Kim also accused the South Korean government of neglect for failing to stop the North Korean defector’s reckless behavior and warned that the South Korean government would be solely responsible for it.

Last week, Park Sang-hak, an activist who defected to the South in the late 1990s, said he launched leaflets to the North. It’s the first known case since the National Assembly passed a law to ban civilians from sending anti-North Korea leaflets across the border. In a video released by his organization, Park said that he is not afraid of being sent to prison and vowed that he will keep sending leaflets for the sake of the 20 million North Korean........
