Listening tour? Albo should’ve opened his eyes

1 0 0

2GB radio host and Daily Telegraph columnist Ray Hadley gives his views about 10 news and sport stories of the week.

1. Anthony Albanese’s “listening tour” of Queensland could have been held in his Sydney electorate office. The Queenslanders turned their backs on Labor for a number of reasons.

Putting jobs at risk in the mining industry was followed by franking credits and Labor’s support of the Greens.

That’s why Labor ended up with about 27% of the primary vote up north compared to nationwide average of about 33%. No need to tour Queensland to discover that.

2. In politics you usually find when someone falls on their sword for a colleague it will result in a significant reward down the track.

Prominent and popular Labor MP Ed Husic took one for the team by standing down from the shadow ministry to accommodate Kristina Keneally.

He’ll surely be rewarded in the future for his noble act for his “dear friend”, who led the NSW Labor Party........
