‘Conservative Juggernaut’ Tim Scott Speaks on ‘The Tony Kinnett Cast’

During Monday’s episode of “The Tony Kinnett Cast,” the Daily Signal’s Tony Kinnett spoke with Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., whom he called a “conservative juggernaut” and one to watch.

Many important topics were discussed during the program.

Gerrymandering and Black Representation in Congress

According to Scott, the Democrats’ narrative about redistricting and race rings hollow.

“According to Democrats, I’m not black because I’m a Republican, and they want to talk about redistricting,” said Scott, who also has served in the U.S. House. He was the first black Republican to represent the state in both the House and the Senate, and the first African American elected to the Senate from a Southern state since Reconstruction.

Scott noted he was able to win in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District and statewide. “So, what we know for sure is that voters throughout the South and at home in South Carolina are more concerned with your values than how much melanin you have in your skin,” he said.
