Swindon Half Marathon runners praise returning event
The long-awaited return of the Swindon Half Marathon sparked a lot of discussion.
Thousands of runners completed the 13-mile route around town over the weekend, cheered on by people lining the streets.
Sports event company Run Through brought back the event after a six-year gap caused by the pandemic, increased costs, and a drop in entries.
Rolling road closures caused some congestion for motorists but overall, the atmosphere was joyous and celebratory.
Jacqueline Ahmed said: “Thank you to all of the volunteers, and everyone who came out to clap, cheer, offer sweets and encouragement. Much appreciated!”
