SF could get striking futuristic homes overlooking the Pacific Ocean
Plans have been filed for Sutro Cove, a 20-unit, ocean-facing complex in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond. The project would replace two homes near Sutro Heights next to the Golden Gate National Recreational Area.
A sleek, futuristic-looking complex of homes has been proposed for a San Francisco cliffside adjacent to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. If approved as is, 20 new units could be constructed at the very edge of the Outer Richmond overlooking Ocean Beach.
The Sutro Cove project would replace two existing single-family homes at 641-645 48th Ave. with three four-story buildings, as first reported by SFYIMBY.

“The property actually belongs to a family that grew up there,” design lead Stanley Saitowitz said during a phone call with SFGATE. His firm, Stanley Saitowitz | Natoma Architects Inc., is behind the application and design of the project. The two homes currently exist on nine lots, which Saitowitz and his team are planning to subdivide into 20 units.
