LAHORE – Intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab during this week.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly prevails western parts of Pakistan. It will likely grip most upper parts of the country on 26th April.

Under the influence of these conditions, dry weather is expected in most districts of the province on Wednesday night. However, partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm/drizzle is expected in Murree, Galyat and surroundings.

On Thursday, light rain/drizzle is expected in Murree and Galyat. Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.

From April 26 to April 29, rain-wind/thunderstorms with few moderate to heavy falls are expected in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan and Sahiwal.

Rain-wind/thunderstorms are also expected in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar with occasional gaps from 26th to 28th April. Hailstorms are also expected at isolated places during the period.

Heavy rainfall may cause landslides in Murree and Galyat. Windstorm/hailstorm and lightning may affect human life, standing crops, loose structures like electric poles and solar panels. Farmers are advised to manage their crops keeping in view the weather conditions. Tourists are advised to avoid unnecessary traveling during the period. Temperatures are likely to drop during the wet spell.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 31-33 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 30-32 C on Friday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the province where maximum temperature was recorded at 38 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 68 per cent.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 32 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 54 per cent.
