Pre-Scout: Jets host Oilers amid franchise record 10-game losing streak

The season is slipping through the Winnipeg Jets‘ fingers.

Make it 10 straight losses for Winnipeg after a 4-3 overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night. The Jets blew a late 3rd period lead before Tomas Hertl ended the game on the power play with just 13 seconds left.

“I think we did a lot of things to try and eliminate their top players from being into it,” said Scott Arniel, Jets head coach, post-game.

The Jets had to play with five defencemen as Hadyn Fleury needed to be stretchered off after a crunching hit in the first period. He was fully alert and moving his extremities after the game.

“There was a lot of things we did correct. The hard part was when we had to go down to five [defensemen], those guys were getting winded. Vegas did a real good job of getting pucks into our corners and making our ‘D’ have to go back and get them. At the end of the day, (we’ve) got to continue,” said Arniel.

Yup, it’s bad

The Jets are 32nd in the NHL right — dead last.

Last season, the Jets had 22 regulation losses and four overtime losses. In half as many games this season, they have 21 regulation losses........
