Enterprising young livestock farmers share £12,000 industry prize

The Chris Lewis Award is a biennial prize founded in 2007 in memory of a respected Norfolk stockman and sheep breeder who was known for supporting young people.

This year's award was presented at an event hosted by award-winning farmer Richard Hirst, chairman of the Norfolk Farmers Trust, which sponsors the award alongside the Clan Trust.

Judges praised the high standard of the six finalists, but could not separate the top two - so the prize money was shared between Amy Kinge and Skye Germany.

Skye Germany, 29, from Hainford near Norwich, looks after 1,500 pigs for major pork producer BQP and also has her own herd of 50 cattle, mainly pedigree Simmentals.
