‘President has asked for vote-theft evidence’: INDIA Bloc leaders after meeting Murmu
Speaking to reporters after meeting the President, the delegation said that the President has asked for the evidence of vote theft as alleged by the Opposition leaders, which would be delivered to her.
New Delhi: A delegation of INDIA Bloc leaders on Friday met President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and handed her a memorandum alleging vote theft. The ten-member delegation that met the President included Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, MAITC chief Mamata Banerjee, among others.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the President, the delegation said that the President has asked for evidence of vote theft as alleged by the Opposition leaders, which would be delivered to her. The leaders further said that the President assured them of looking into the allegation.
‘Entire nation knows votes are being stolen’
“We met the President today. I was somewhat surprised because when we spoke to her about vote theft and election rigging, she did not deny it. She did not say that elections are not being rigged. Instead, she asked us to present the evidence to her. We are ready and happy to take all the evidence we have gathered to the President,” Rahul Gandhi said.
