Fertility after 30: Doctor explains period changes, hormonal symptoms and other signs that you shouldn’t ignore
Are you in your 30s and noticing changes in your periods, pelvic health or fertility? A fertility specialist explains warning signs women shouldn’t ignore, when to seek medical advice and why AMH alone cannot predict fertility.
New Delhi: For many women, their 30s are a decade of major milestones—career growth, relationships, marriage, motherhood, or planning for a family in the future. While it is entirely possible to conceive naturally throughout this decade, reproductive health does undergo gradual changes with age. The challenge is that many women dismiss warning signs such as irregular periods, severe menstrual pain or difficulty conceiving as stress-related issues or a normal part of ageing.
According to Dr Nisha Pansare, Fertility Specialist at Nova IVF Fertility, Kharadi, Pune, understanding these changes and recognising when something is not normal can make a significant difference to both reproductive health and future fertility.
“Many women assume that changes in their menstrual cycle or fertility are simply a consequence of getting older. While age does influence reproductive health, persistent symptoms should never be ignored because they may point to an underlying condition that requires treatment,” says Dr Pansare.
Your fertility naturally changes with age
Women are born with a finite number of eggs, and both the quantity and quality of these eggs decline over time. While fertility remains good for many women in their early 30s, the decline becomes more noticeable after the age of 35.
This does not mean pregnancy becomes impossible.........
