In another setback for the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress faction, its candidate for the Rejinagar Assembly bypoll, Rabiul Alam Chowdhury, announced on Saturday that he had withdrawn his nomination.

New Delhi: The Mamata Banerjee-led TMC faction suffered its second setback in two days after Rabiul Alam Chowdhury withdrew his nomination from the Rejinagar Assembly bypoll, citing the symbol dispute and alleged intimidation of party workers.

Rabiul Alam Chowdhury, who was fielded by the Mamata Banerjee-led faction of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for the Rejinagar Assembly bypoll, announced on Saturday that he had withdrawn his nomination.
