Well, folks, it looks like California’s got itself into a little mess, courtesy of Governor Gavin Newsom and his buddy Paul Mitchell, the man with a map and a penchant for political chaos.

You see, after unveiling some colorful new political boundaries, questions about Mitchell’s financial ties to the DCCC began to bubble up faster than a fizzy soda left in the sun—most notably his connections to a consultancy that raked in more than $31 million battling Prop 50. Quite the coincidence, huh?
