POSITIVE VIBES: The positivity of clutter
We’ve lived in our house now for close to 30 years. We bought it literally right after we moved back to Geneva from California. Our plan was to live next door to my parents for a year or two, save money, then look for a house.
But when our house became available, it had everything we wanted: a nice, quiet dead-end street, a full basement, a natural fence, an attached driveway, and walking distance from the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station (now Cornell AgriTech), where we both worked at the time. Plus, we always said we’d like to buy a small house on a nice street.
We bit the bullet and bought the house. We’ve never looked back.
Over the years we’ve expanded the house: turned the garage into my office, finished the basement, added a ping-pong room, and built a pickleball court. Still, despite all these additions, the house can be a little cluttered, as over the years we’ve accumulated a lot of stuff. Yet, when........
