County Hall pulls funding after bus shelter row... to give to neighbouring town
Norfolk County Council has announced that it has reallocated the £580,000 that was earmarked for Sheringham's new travel hub to other bus schemes in the county.
And this includes a new "bespoke" bus shelter at the other end of the North Norfolk Railway line in Holt.
It comes after the county council's controversial Sheringham travel hub plans, which including demolishing the 1950s shelter in Station Approach, were brought to halt last month.
Protestors fiercely fought to save the structure and staged a 24-hour sit-in protest for 10 days before the council withdrew from the site completely.

County Hall officials had warned that the money for the scrapped scheme could be spent elsewhere in the county, as the government could claw it back if it was not spent by the end of March.
However, they had not ruled out developing an alternative scheme for Sheringham.
But now in a fresh blow to the town, the county council has said that some of the money will be spent for a new shelter in Holt with real-time passenger information installed.
It will also go towards real-time passenger........
