Philip Dowe, who owns the former Chapmans site on The Green in Martham, had his dream of incorporating the building into a neighbouring cottage refused by Great Yarmouth Council in December last year.

The property, known as The Walnuts, was lived in by Mr Dowe and his family while the butcher shop traded.

Council officers ruled that the plans conflicted with its planning policies.
