George Smith, 98, died at the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston last Tuesday (August 18).

An inquest opening held at Norfolk Coroner’s Court established his provisional cause of death as acute myocardial infarction as a result of asbestosis, heart failure and frailty of old age.

Mr Smith, who lived on Bulmer Lane in Winterton, was identified by a senior anatomical pathology technician at the James Paget Hospital.
