More babies in Norfolk will suffer painful and avoidable deaths warns mother
Leah Scott, 37, from Diss, issued the grave warning following a recent decision not to test newborns for more diseases including metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) which claimed the life of her five- year- old daughter.
She said: "Children will die who do not need to die. It really is that simple. Our politicians are choosing bureaucracy over the lives of our babies."

Mrs Scott’s daughter Paige died of the muscle wasting disease in 2017, but her twin sons Oscar and Phelix, ten were saved after receiving treatment on the NHS following their early diagnosis.
She called on Wes Streeting, the health secretary, to overrule the decision made by the UK National Screening Agency not to add MLD to the heel prick test performed on newborns at five days old and branded the decision "illogical and immoral".
"Treatment is effective if MLD is caught early enough and tests cost just £1. My sons are happy and healthy but only because the death of their sister meant they were screened at birth.
