Philip Cutter, who runs the Gardeners Arms - known locally as the Murderers - with his wife, is eyeing out the Lanes to see how some of their best practices can be applied to Timber Hill.

The publican, who has worked at the pub for almost 40 years, hopes to rally business owners to raise more awareness of what the street has to offer and increase footfall.

Mr Cutter highlighted that since the pedestrianisation of nearby Westlegate, people no longer use Timber Hill as a thoroughfare to get to the city centre.
