Council to spend £850k to design pool... which it has not committed to building yet
West Norfolk Council says it needs to replace the ageing St James Pool in the centre of King's Lynn and wants to build a new, larger pool at the town's Lynnsport leisure centre.
Councillors on the authority's corporate performance panel are being asked to agree to set aside more than £845,000 to cover the cost of designing the new facility, and drawing up a business case.
But an officer's report said the money spent will only "determine whether the project should proceed to construction".
