Budding activity with over £14.5 million sold in early spring auction
Robert Hurst, auction surveyor, said: “There was plenty of activity, with the auction taking over seven and a half hours to complete from start to finish.
“Prices ranged from £26,500 for 3.4 acres of land off Thorpe Market Road in Roughton, to £810,000 for a detached cottage on Morston Road in Blakeney.
“A former mortuary on Lion Lane in Needham Market proved to be a dead cert sale, making £161,000, which was more than double its reserve price.
“Another interesting lot was the sale of Blackhorse House in Binham. Originally an ale house it was sold by auction in 1883 to Bullard & Sons. It was then sold by the brewery by auction to a private buyer in 1959 to be a dwelling house and remained in the same family since.
